NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Plymouth State University men's and women's indoor track & field teams saw little change in their regional rankings as the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released its third Track & Field Rating Index (TFRI) of the season this week.
The women slipped one spot to 20th in the East Region with 17.43 points, while the men remained in 21st with 21.67 points.
Sophomore
Ani Flynn (Plymouth, N.H.), senior
Cass Hanson (Stetson, Maine), junior
Rose Karow (South Yarmouth, Mass.), and freshman
Clare Tuohy (Sunapee, N.H.) combined for a 4:14.92 in the 4x400-meter relay at the River Hawk Invitational last weekend. The mark was just 0.25 seconds shy of the program record and ranks 10th in the East Region to date.
The men's 4x400-meter relay also ran a top regional time, as freshman
Cam Lee (Northwood, N.H.), senior
Luke Cloutier (Lyman, Maine), sophomore
Isaias Aguasvivas Pena (Marblehead, Mass.), and senior
Zach Hodge (Springfield, N.H.) clocked a 3:28.31 – the 12th-best time in the East Region this season, while senior
Max Goodman (South Salem, N.Y.) posted a 15:41.70 in the 5,000 meters to rank in the top 25 regionally.
The TFRI is a complex mathematical system used as the benchmark to rank collegiate track and field teams since 2008.
Plymouth State travels to Medford, Mass. for the Tufts Cupid Challenge this weekend. Events begin Friday (Feb. 13) afternoon, and continue into Saturday (Feb. 14).
