HANCOCK, Mass. – Sophomore
Alvin Guteland Beiming (Södertälje, Sweden) posted the fastest second run of the day to vault 20 places up the leaderboard for a third-place finish to pace the Plymouth State University alpine ski teams at the Eastern Intercollegiate Ski Association (EISA) Championships at Middlebury Snow Bowl on Friday.
Guteland Beiming was PSU's top finisher in the morning, sitting in 23rd, but a dynamic second run secured his first career podium finish. His second run was more than three-tenths of a second faster than his closest competitor, making him the first men's skier to reach the podium since
Karl Kuus finished third in the slalom at the 2019 Middlebury Carnival.
The women were led by sophomore
Olivia Andersson (Vaxholm, Sweden), who topped the team in the discipline for the fourth straight weekend. Andersson, 25th after her first run, cruised into 18th with a strong afternoon effort.
Both teams finished fifth in the team standings.

How it Happened (Men's GS):
- Guteland Beiming was PSU's leader in the morning, sitting in 23rd with a first run of 54.85 seconds. He threw down a huge second run, though, pacing the field with a 1:02.07 to catapult all the way to third with a combined 1:56.92.
- Freshman Axel Hafsett (Lausanne, Switzerland) was four spots back in 27th after a first run of 55.03 before posting a 1:04.19 in the afternoon to move up to 26th.
- Freshman Hjalmar Nyman (Stockholm, Sweden) got down the hill in 55.93 in his first run to sit 56th. He jumped up 20 spots after a second run of 1:04.50 for a combined time of 2:00.43.
- Freshman Charlie Howe (Lake Placid, N.Y.) and senior Vincent Fosser (Helsingborg, Sweden) posted morning runs of 56.33 and 56.49, though neither qualified for a second run.
- Freshman Emile Prouvost (Charleston, S.C.) ranked 53rd after clocking a 55.70 in the morning, but was unable to finish his second run.
How it Happened (Women's GS):
- Andersson posted a strong first run of 56.90 seconds to rank 25th, extending a stretch of strong skiing in the discipline. She notched a top-15 time in the afternoon to slide into 18th with a combined 2:02.72.
- Sophomore Marlene Sophie Krohn (Drammen, Norway) ranked 33rd after her morning run time of 57.66. She bumped up eight spots to 25th on the final leaderboard after a second run of 1:06.98 gave her a total time of 2:04.64.
- Sophomore Megan Heckey (Québec City, Québec) got down the hill in 58.30 in the morning to sit 36th, with freshman Märta Hahlin (Arvidsjaur, Sweden) right behind her in 39th following a first run of 58.41.
- The two swapped places in the afternoon, as Hahlin surged into 32nd with a combined 2:05.75, while Heckey ended up 36th in 2:06.27.
- Senior Gill Hamilton (Ottawa, Ontario) posted a 59.29 opening run to sit in 54th. She improved 12 spots after a second run of 1:08.18 gave her a total time of 2:07.47 and a 42nd-place finish.
- Sophomore Laurence Bouchard (Québec City, Québec) had a strong opening run of 57.35 to rank 29th, but she was unable to finish her second run.
