MEDFORD, Mass. – Sophomore
Amelia Lefebvre (Greenland, N.H.) reset her own school record in the pentathlon while representing the Plymouth State University women's indoor track & field team at the NCAA Division III New England Regional Championship at the Gantcher Center at Tufts University on Friday.
Lefebvre posted personal-best marks in the 60-meter hurdles, high jump and 800 meters to finish with 2,908 points, eclipsing her previous record by more than 150.
She clocked 10.09 in the 60-meter hurdles to place second in her heat before clearing 1.54 meters in the high jump to finish second overall. Her mark of 9.26 meters in the shot put ranked fourth, and she added a leap of 4.55 meters in the long jump. Lefebvre closed out the competition with a personal-best time of 2:35.56 in the 800 meters to place sixth in the event and ninth overall in the pentathlon standings.
The meet continues Sunday (Mar. 1) at the TRACK at New Balance beginning at 9:15 a.m. Plymouth State will have competitors in the 200 meters, 400 meters, 800 meters, 60-meter hurdles, high jump, and 4x800-meter relay.
