NORTHFIELD, Vt. – Freshman
Gabriel Berger (Shoreline, Wash.) secured his first career pin to lead the Plymouth State University wrestling team in a dual match against Norwich University at Plumley Armory on Wednesday evening.
Berger's pin at 149 pounds came late in the second period to secure six points for the Panthers. Freshman
Sam Cowette (Bedford, N.H.) was nipped in a 10-9 decision at 184 pounds, while senior
Michael Moussa (Tucson, Ariz.) was also edged by decision at heavyweight. Freshman
Jacob Oliveira (Warwick, R.I.) blanked his opponent, 7-0, in an exhibition match at 133 pounds.
The Panthers head to Southern Maine for a quad meet on Saturday (Feb. 7).
