BOSTON, Mass. – Senior
Max Goodman (South Salem, N.Y.) posted one of the top performances in the 5,000 meters to lead the Plymouth State University men's indoor track & field team at the River Hawk Invitational hosted by the University of Massachusetts Lowell at the TRACK at new balance on Saturday.
Goodman clocked a season-best 15:41.70 to place 12th overall and finish as the top Division III competitor in the field, while sophomore
Noah Francis (Bethlehem, N.H.) added a season-best of his own, finishing 22nd in 15:54.40.
The Panthers saw additional highlights on the track from sophomore
Ty Shipmon (Yonkers, N.Y.), who recorded season-best efforts in both the 60 meters and 200 meters, while freshman
Enzo Valenti (Montville, Conn.) anchored the field events placing among the top Division III competitors in the shot put.
Plymouth State added multiple personal and season bests in the middle distances and capped the meet with a solid finish in the 4x400-meter relay.
The meet was non-scoring and featured several NCAA Division I and II schools, in addition to a number of Division III regional powers.

Meet Highlights:
- Shipmon ran a season-best 7.16 in the 60 meters to place 33rd. Sophomore Gabe Kean (Thornton, N.H.) followed in 48th with a time of 7.22 seconds.
- The duo also led PSU in the 200 meters in the open division. Shipmon placed 47th with another season-best mark of 22.93, just ahead of Kean, whose 22.98 represented a career-best performance.
- In the 400 meters invite division, senior Zach Hodge (Springfield, N.H.) placed 35th with a season-best time of 51.70 seconds. In the open division, freshman Cam Lee (Northwood, N.H.) finished 15th with a season-best 51.64, while sophomore Isaias Aguasvivas Pena (Marblehead, Mass.) and junior Shea McLaughlin (Byfield, Mass.) recorded personal-best times of 52.09 (23rd) and 53.53 (39th), respectively.
- Junior Ben Colby (Manchester, N.H.) ran the fastest 800 meters of his career, shaving more than two seconds off his previous best to place 46th in 2:02.16.
- In the mile run, senior Luke Cloutier (Limerick, Maine) recorded a season-best time of 4:32.86 to finish 55th.
- Junior Angelo DeLuca (Lynnfield, Mass.) turned in a major PR in the 3,000 meters, lowering his previous best by more than 12 seconds with a time of 9:04.16 to place 47th.
- Goodman led the Panthers in the 5,000 meters, placing 12th overall and first among Division III competitors with a season-best time of 15:41.70. Francis added a season-best performance of 15:54.40 to finish 22nd.
- McLaughlin also competed in the 60-meter hurdles, placing 25th with a time of 8.86 seconds. Junior Elijah Thomas (Stoughton, Mass.) finished 29th in 8.94.
- PSU's 4x400-meter relay team of Lee, Cloutier, Aguasvivas Pena, and Hodge combined for a time of 3:28.31 to finish 15th.
- Senior Joel Newman (Natick, Mass.) matched his season-best mark of 1.80 meters in the high jump to place 22nd.
- Valenti finished 10th in the shot put with a mark of 12.58 meters, ranking third among Division III competitors. Junior Kole Matta (Castleton, Vt.) placed 25th with a throw of 11.01 meters.
- Valenti also competed in the weight throw invite, recording a mark of 14.01 meters. Matta placed 13th in the weight throw open division with a distance of 12.73 meters.
