PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Freshmen
Colby Walden (Londonderry, N.H.) and
Seamus Tattan (West Roxbury, Mass.) combined for 10 goals and 18 points as Plymouth State University celebrated
Senior Night with a dominant 20-8 win over Salem State University in a Little East Conference (LEC) men's lacrosse game at Panther Field Wednesday evening.
Junior
Aiden Renner (Phillipsburg, N.J.) won the opening faceoff, ran down the field and connected with Tattan for a goal just five seconds into the game, and the rout was on. Tattan and Walden combined for four first-quarter goals as the Panthers built a 5-0 lead after one and never looked back.
The Vikings momentarily slowed the momentum early in the second quarter, but PSU answered with a 6-0 burst, including three more goals from Walden in a span of less than two minutes, as the lead ballooned to 11-1 at halftime.
Plymouth State rolled from there to secure the key conference victory.

The game also served as the team's annual
Morgan's Message contest, highlighting the importance of student-athlete mental health.
Plymouth State improves to 6-6 (2-3 LEC), while the Vikings go to 7-6 (2-4 LEC).

How it Happened:
- Tattan scored just five seconds into the game to spark the Panthers.
- Despite the early goal, PSU didn't pull away until late in the first quarter, when a four-goal burst in less than seven minutes extended the lead to 5-0.
- Salem State scored early in the second to make it a four-goal game, but PSU responded with a decisive 6-0 surge to take an 11-1 halftime lead. Tattan assisted on four straight tallies, while Walden scored three goals in a span of 1:56 late in the frame.
- Freshman Cam Brosnihan (North Andover, Mass.) got into the scoring column midway through the third, while Tattan and Walden added to their totals to make it 14-4 heading to the fourth quarter.
- The Panthers ran off another five straight goals in the first half of the final stanza to put the game completely out of reach, 19-4. Freshman Jack Derasmo (Wolcott, Conn.) capped the spurt with his second career tally.
- Salem State closed the contest with a 4-1 run to account for the final score.
By the Numbers:
- Walden posted career highs with seven goals and nine points.
- Tattan also recorded nine points with a hat trick and six assists – the most for a Panther in more than three years.
- Renner finished with three goals and an assist, along with six ground balls, while winning 8-of-13 faceoffs.
- Freshman Brayden Christian (Lancaster, Mass.) was equally dominant on faceoffs, winning 14-of-18.
- PSU owned a 37-13 shot advantage and was 19-for-20 on clears.
- The Panthers won the ground ball battle, 39-22, and went 22-of-31 on faceoffs.
- Plymouth State is now 25-0 against the Vikings.
