LOUISVILLE, Ky. – A day after earning All-Little East Conference (LEC) First Team recognition, postseason honors continued to roll in for senior
Kenzie Bessette (Cranston, R.I.), as the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) announced its 2026 Division III All-Region teams on Friday afternoon.
Bessette earned Second Team All-Region II honors as an outfielder, marking her third straight selection to the Second Team, after landing on the organization's Player of the Year Watchlist last month.
Bessette served as a catalyst for the Panthers' offense, batting .400 with a .442 on-base percentage out of the leadoff spot. She led the team in nearly every offensive category, including runs (32), hits (48), doubles (8), triples (3), home runs (2), slugging percentage (.567), and stolen bases, going 30-for-33 in stolen base attempts. She opened the season with a 17-game hitting streak and posted 11 multi-hit games.
She will leave Plymouth State as one of the most productive players in program history despite spending her freshman season at the University of New England. In her three seasons as a Panther, Bessette posted a .442/.496/.596 slash line, while recording 161 hits and scoring 99 runs in 111 games. She established a new program record for career stolen bases, swiping 82 bags while being thrown out just 11 times – a success rate of better than 88%.
Under fifth-year head coach
Mike Bernier, the Panthers finished 18-19-1 overall and 10-6 in the LEC to capture the No. 3 seed in the LEC Tournament. Plymouth State was eliminated on the opening day of the tournament, dropping a tight decision to UMass Boston before suffering a one-run setback to Eastern Connecticut.
