WORCESTER, Mass. - Freshman Louise Hillen
(Minnetonka, Minn.) and sophomore Lisa Wilson (Corunna, Ontario)
scored two goals apiece Sunday afternoon to lead the Holy Cross
Crusaders to an 11-4 victory over Plymouth State University in an
ECAC Women's East Conference ice hockey game.
The Crusaders led 7-0 after one period and 9-0 early in the second
frame before the Panthers got on the board. Holy Cross went
on to improve its overall record to 8-3-1 (6-1-0 ECAC) while PSU
falls to 0-10-0 overall (0-9-0 ECAC).
Freshman Elizabeth Murray (Woburn, Mass.) provided
the highlights for the Panthers, scoring all four goals for
PSU. She put the Panthers on the board midway though the
second period with her second of the season, and added three goals
in the third. PSU had scored only three goals as a team this
season coming into the game.
Junior Kim Chandler (Andover, Mass.) collected two
assists for PSU, while sophomores Amanda Arponen
(Plymouth, Mass.) and Courtney McKay (Exeter,
N.H.), junior Julie Robida (West Hartford, Conn.)
and freshman Ashley Goodridge (Stratham, N.H.)
recorded one assist each.
Junior Lindsay DeLorie (Holliston, Mass.) went the
distance in the Panther goal, finishing with 45 saves. Holy
Cross freshman Monique Gallant (Antigonish, Nove Scotia) made five
saves to earn the win.
PSU plays a non-conference game Tuesday at Wesleyan (7:00 p.m.),
while the Crusaders play again Friday at St. Michael's (7:00 p.m.)
