PLYMOUTH, N.H. - Plymouth State University took first place in all 16 events Saturday afternoon and defeated Regis College, 110-93, in the women's swimming and diving home opener at the PSU Natatorium.

            Six different Panthers won two individual events apiece, and PSU swept the two relay races.  The Panthers even their dual meet record at 1-1 on the season, while Regis drops to 0-6.

            Junior Tracey Posnick (Sharon, Mass.) finished first in the two distance freestyle events for the Panthers, winning the 1,000-yard freestyle in 11:58.36 and the 500-yard free in 5:56.04.  Freshman Nicole Brodeur (Claremont, N.H./Vermont Academy) touched first in the 200-yard free (2:08.64) and the 50-yard butterfly (29.37 seconds), and senior Amanda Branch (Gray, Maine/Bonny Eagle) was the fastest swimmer in the 100-yard fly (1:07.85) and the 200-yard individual medley (2:33.75).

            The two other Panther swimmers to win two individual events were junior Chaz Sweeney (Methuen, Mass.), who took the 50-yard backstroke (30.67 seconds) and the 100-yard backstroke (1:07.70), and freshman Brittanie Bradley (Scarborough, Maine), who captured the 50-yard breaststroke (34.89 seconds) and the 100-yard breaststroke (1:15.46).

            Freshman Nora Regan (West Hartford, Conn./Northwest Catholic) was also a double-winner for PSU, taking the one-meter and three-meter diving (with scores of 142.70 and 140.30). 

            The team of Sweeney, sophomore Lindsay Graham (Framingham, Mass.), Branch and freshman Brittney Gondek (South Glastonbury, Conn.) won the 200-yard medley relay to open the meet, and the group of junior Elise Innis (Harpswell, Maine/Mt. Ararat), Brodeur, senior Kaitlyn Milligan (Forestdale, Mass./Sandwich) and Gondek teamed up to take the final race, the 400-yard free relay.

            PSU is back in the pool on Saturday, Dec. 6, competing at the Little  East Conference Championships at UMass Dartmouth (11:00 a.m.)
