BURLINGTON, Vt. - Junior Jess Tourville (Baltimore, Vt.)
recorded her first career hat trick Friday night as Saint Michael's
College defeated Plymouth State University, 10-0, in ECAC Women's
East Ice Hockey action at the C. Douglas Cairns Arena.
The Purple
Knights (7-14-1, 7-10-1 ECAC East) complete the season sweep of the
Panthers, and set a new mark for wins in a season while also
establishing a new single-game scoring record in the program's
eight-year history. PSU remains winless at 0-19-1, 0-17-1
ECAC East.
Saint Michael's
was also led by senior Gabrielle Bourgeois' (New Haven, Vt.)
one-goal and two assist effort, increasing her program-record
assist mark to 51. Junior Kelly Adams (Chevy Chase, Md.)
tallied four points on the night with three helpers and a
goal. Junior goaltender Melanie Cullen recorded her third
shutout and second versus Plymouth State this season.
Freshman
goaltender Lauren Bonanni (Ridgefield, Conn.) made
30 saves for PSU in her first collegiate start, including 13 in the
first period.
The Panthers
travel to Norwich University on Saturday to conclude their regular
season against the Cadets, while the Purple Knights close out the
regular season at home against Castleton State at 3:00 p.m. on
Senior Day.
