PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Senior
Georgia McLellan (Kamloops, British Columbia) was Plymouth State University's lone representative when the New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) announced its all-conference teams and major awards winners today.
McLellan was voted All-NEHC Third Team by the conference's ten head coaches. She becomes the fourth Panther to earn All-NEHC honors since the program joined the conference for the 2015-16 season.
A 5-9 defenseman, McLellan served as a captain each of the last two years. She finished tied for sixth on the team with six points behind three goals and three assists. Her three scores were the most among PSU defensemen.
McLellan opened the year with points in each of the first three games, including an assist on the Panthers' game-winning goal in a 3-1 win over Salve Regina on Oct. 30.
On Nov. 20, McLellan potted the game-winner with a blast from the top of the right circle in the final minute of the third period in a 3-1 win over Salem State, and she was responsible for the entirety of the PSU offense in a 5-1 setback to the University of Massachusetts Boston in the regular season finale last Saturday.
Plymouth State ended the season with a 7-17-1 mark and went 5-13-0 in the NEHC to capture the eighth seed for the NEHC Tournament, but the Panthers were stunned by ninth-seeded Salem State in the first round, falling 4-3 in overtime.
