MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – Junior
Athena Comeau (Rutland, Mass.) helped the Plymouth State University women's indoor track & field team to a fourth-place finish at the Middlebury Snowflake Invitational at the Virtue Field House with two scoring performances on Saturday afternoon.
Comeau jumpstarted the Panthers with an impressive race in the 60-meter dash by finishing fourth overall in 8.15 seconds. She continued her momentum into the 200-meter dash where she flashed her speed to an eighth-place finish in 27.44.
Sophomore
Julia Ahern (Plymouth, N.H.) also had a notable day, placing third in the high jump after clearing a height of 1.50 meters.
The Panthers came in fourth overall, trailing NCAA Division I University of Vermont, NCAA Division II Franklin Pierce University and host Middlebury College, which placed sixth at last year's indoor championships. PSU outscored Little East Conference (LEC) rival Castleton.

How it Happened:
- Senior Jordan Velie (Manchester, N.H.) started the Panthers off in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 11.18 to take seventh place.
- Sophomore Niki Monoxelos (Litchfield, N.H.) represented in the 500-meter run with a time of 1:40.51 to place fifth overall.
- Comeau made her first showing in the 60-meter dash with a fourth-place finish in 8.15 seconds.
- The trio of junior Lexi Marcolini (Milford, Mass.), senior Abby Hurley (Kennebunkport, Maine) and sophomore Amy Cohen (Concord, N.H.) took third, fifth and sixth in the 800-meter run with times of 2:46.52, 2:52.47, and 2:59.31, respectively.
- Junior Janelle Kitchin (Fair Haven, Vt.) and sophomore Gracie Villareal (Walden, Vt.) paced each other to personal bests in the 1000-meter run with times of 3:32.44 and 3:35.68.
- Comeau placed again in the 200-meter dash, crossing the line in 27.44 seconds to take eighth overall.
- The 4x400-meter relay squad of Cohen, Kitchin, Marcolini and junior Mackenzie Labrie (Canaan, N.H.) took third with a time of 4:55.01.
- Senior Breanna Fearon (Monroe, N.H.) placed eighth in the weight throw with a toss of 9.76 meters.
- Ahern capped off the day with a third-place finish in the high jump, clearing 1.50 meters.
