PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Freshman Mia Sweeney (Plymouth, Mass.) of the Plymouth State University women's indoor track & field team was named the Yankee Ford Little East Conference (LEC) Women's Track Rookie of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday afternoon.
 
Sweeney won the 3,000-meters at the PSU Alumni Meet on Saturday, posting a personal best time of 11:14.62 to claim the victory. Her time was more than 40 seconds ahead of PSU's best performance in the event this season and ranks 14th in the LEC.
 
Plymouth State heads to the LEC Championships on Saturday (Feb. 22) hosted by Rhode Island College at the Providence Career & Technical Academy Field House.
