WITF: Comeau sets school record at David Hemery Valentine Invitational

BOSTON, Mass. – Junior Athena Comeau (Rutland, Mass.) broke a school record and freshman Cass Hanson (Stetson, Maine) set a personal record while representing the Plymouth State University women's indoor track & field team at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational at Boston University on Friday.
 
Comeau demolished the program mark in the 200-meter dash in a time of 26.38 seconds and placed within the top 150, which included multiple competitors from all three NCAA Divisions and professional athletes. Comeau also made a showing in the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.01 to take 13th overall.
 
Hansen also competed in the same two events, crossing the line in 8.49 seconds in the 60-meter dash. She then snagged a personal best by nearly a second with a time of 27.76 in the 200-meters.
 
The meet was a non-scoring event.
 
The duo will be joined by the rest of the squad when Plymouth State hosts the Little East Conference (LEC) Championship at Bank of New Hampshire Field House next Saturday (Feb. 18).
