WELLESLEY, Mass. – Senior
Jessica McGregor (New Boston, N.H.) posted a fourth place finish in the A finals of the 50 yard breaststroke to lead the Plymouth State University women's swim team on the first day of the Little East Conference (LEC) Championships at Boston Sports Institute on Friday.
McGregor notched her two fastest times of the season in the event, qualifying for the A finals after finishing the prelims with the fourth fastest time. She shaved another 0.26 seconds off her time while competing in the finals where she swam to a fourth place finish.

Kyra Donahue (Methuen, Mass.) was PSU's other A finalist after taking seventh in the 100 yard butterfly.
Several swimmers posted their best times of the season while the Panthers accrued 83 points through the end of day one of competition to rank seventh.

How it Happened:
- McGregor swam a season-fastest 33.21 in the prelims of the 50 yard breaststroke to qualify for the A finals with the fourth fastest time. She was even faster in the finals, touching the wall in 32.95 to finish fourth.
- Donahue also reached the A finals in her lone individual event of the day, the 100 yard butterfly. Her time of 1:04.74 in the prelims was the fifth fastest and just shy of her season best. She was just a touch off the pace in the finals to place seventh in 1:04.95.
- Freshman Paige Lee (Stratham, N.H.) was more than two seconds ahead of her personal best in the 50 yard freestyle to reach the B finals with a time of 26.90. Her finals time of 27.43 was good enough for fifth in the B finals and 13th overall.
- Freshmen Baillie Mako (Newport, N.H.) and Adriana Cepeda (Boston, Mass.) demolished their personal best times in the 500 yard freestyle prelims. Mako posted a time of 6:48.46, nearly 40 seconds ahead of her previous best, while Cepeda touched the wall in 6:50.04 for a personal best by over 13 seconds.
- Sophomore Sam Morales-Barszcz (Meriden, Conn.) competed in the 200 yard backstroke with a time of 2:53.04 in the prelims.
- PSU's 200 yard freestyle relay squad finished sixth with a significant season best. McGregor, Lee, freshman Jackie Gaigals (Methuen, Mass.) and Donahue combined to finish in 1:48.18, just shy of seven full seconds ahead of the previous fastest time.
- The foursome of Lee, McGregor, Donahue and Gaigals also finished sixth in the 400 yard medley relay after shredding the seed time by over 24 seconds. The quartet combined for a 4:31.22 to demolish the previous mark.
