PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Freshman

Mackenzie Labrie (Canaan, N.H.) and
Athena Comeau (Rutland, Mass.) teamed up to win the 4x200-meter relay to help the Plymouth State University women's indoor track & field team to a fifth-place finish at the Little East Conference (LEC) Championships at the Bank of New Hampshire Field House on Saturday.
The quartet put forward a dynamic performance to win the relay by more than three seconds to claim victory. Comeau added a second-place finish in the 60-meter dash, while PSU's 4x800-meter relay also placed second.
Plymouth State ended up fifth out of eight teams at the meet, earning 47.5 points to hold off a challenge from Rhode Island College.

How it Happened:
- Hanson, Kitchin, Labrie and Comeau gave PSU its lone event win with a fantastic performance in the 4x200-meter relay to win by 3.29 seconds.
- Kitchin teamed up with junior Lexi Marcolini (Milford, Mass.), sophomore Gracie Villareal (Walden, Vt.) and senior Abby Hurley (Kennebunkport, Maine) to take second in the 4x800-meter relay in 10:43.74.
- Comeau posted the top time in the prelims of the 60-meter dash after qualifying with a 7.90. She was just a touch slower in the finals to take second in 7.92.
- Labrie and Hanson also qualified for the finals with times of 8.22 and 8.49 in the prelims. Labrie finished fourth in the finals in 8.19, with Hanson taking eighth in 8.44.
- Comeau and Labrie continued their strong days in the 200-meter dash where they placed fourth and fifth. Comeau crossed the line in 26.94, with Labrie on her heels in 27.20.
- Kitchin also represented in the 800-meters, placing fifth in 2:35.71.
- Junior Emily Philbrook (Penacook, N.H.) notched a pair of fifth place finishes in the mile run and 3,000-meter run. She posted a 5:40.44 in the mile, finishing two spots ahead of Hurley's 5:47.68, then crossed the line in the 3,000-meters in 11:30.44.
- Senior Jordan Velie (Manchester, N.H.) qualified for the 60-meter hurdles finals with a 10.63 in the prelims. She finished fifth in the event with a time of 10.72.
- Sophomore Julia Ahern (Plymouth, N.H.) represented in the jumps, taking fifth in the high jump and seventh in the long jump. She cleared 1.46 meters in the high jump before covering 4.59 meters in the long jump.
- Marcolini took sixth in the 600-meters with a time of 1:50.40.
- Sophomore Amy Cohen (Concord, N.H.) was the Panthers' lone entrant in the 400-meters, where she took eighth in 1:12.37.
- Senior Breanna Fearon (Monroe, N.H.) and freshman Kylie Taylor (Orford, N.H.) took 11th and 13th in the weight throw with heaves of 9.98 meters and 9.57 meters, respectively.
