BB: Rain suspends Panthers’ matchup with Suffolk

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Plymouth State University baseball team's contest with Suffolk University was suspended in the bottom of the fourth inning with the teams tied 4-4 at Socastee High School on Sunday afternoon.

The Panthers jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first after a leadoff single from junior Luke Sokolski (Waterford, Conn.) and back-to-back walks loaded the bases with none out. Senior Nick Healey (Campton, N.H.) knocked in two runners with a base hit.

Suffolk answered with a three-spot in the bottom of the frame.

PSU pulled even in the third when an error, single by junior Jackson Curtis (Jefferson, N.H.) and walk loaded the bases with one away. Senior Trey Parker (Meriden, N.H.) walked with two down to force in the tying run.

Suffolk opened the bottom of the fourth with back-to-back singles before the game was halted due to rain.

The teams will attempt to complete the game later this week if schedules allow.

Plymouth State squares off against Albertus Magnus for a double header on Monday (Mar. 13).
