PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Seventeen members of the Plymouth State University alpine ski teams were honored with national academic recognition as the United State Collegiate Ski Coaches Association (USCSCA) announced its National Collegiate All-Academic Ski Team.
To be eligible, student-athletes must have maintained a 3.50 cumulative grade point average at the completion of the Fall 2022 semester.
Eight members of the men's squad earned the recognition; then juniors
Dan Harrison (Calgary, Alberta) and
Dawson Hill (Calgary, Alberta), sophomores
Jorgen Breivik (Lillestrom, Norway),
Filippo Camposilvan (Vicenza, Italy),
Max Haussmann (Reutlingen, Germany) and
Reed Wilson (Bristol, N.H.) and freshmen
Leo Hallagan (Pittsford, N.Y.) and
Julius Mondschein (Olso, Norway).
Nine student-athletes from the women's team were awarded the honor as well; then senior
Ava Pavlik (East Burke, Vt.), juniors
Franny MacDonald (North Vancouver, British Columbia) and
Camryn Metzger (Thornbury, Ontario), sophomore
Antonie Hruskova (Rokytnice nad Jizerou, Czech Republic) and freshmen
Tindra Bergstrand (Taby, Sweden),
Ronja Dahlin (Hudiksvall, Sweden),
Gill Hamilton (Ottawa, Ontario),
Hanna Larsson Nathhorst (Stockholm, Sweden) and
Vanessa Riise Naas (Lillestrom, Norway).
The Panthers had a remarkably success 2023 campaign under the leadership of fourth-year head coach
Trevor Hamilton, with three racers qualifying for the National Collegiate Ski Championships last March. Haussmann took home All America honors in the slalom with a seventh-place finish, the best for a male skier in program history, to go with a 16th place in the GS. Larsson Nathhorst was 11th in both disciplines, narrowly missing double All-America recognition, while Bergstrand also competed well with a 16th-place showing in the GS and top-25 finish in the slalom.
