CARRABASSETT VALLEY, Maine – Sophomore
Laurence Bouchard (Québec City, Québec) posted a career-best top 20 finish as the Plymouth State University alpine ski teams competed in the giant slalom to wrap up the Colby Carnival at Sugarloaf Mountain on Saturday.
Bouchard sat 14th after her morning run and followed with another strong performance in the afternoon to finish a personal-best 18th on the day. Sophomore
Olivia Andersson (Vaxholm, Sweden) added a 24th-place showing for the women.
The men's team was paced by freshman
Emile Prouvost (Charleston, S.C.), who was 22nd, while freshman
Harry Duncan (Ramsdell, United Kingdom) and senior
Vincent Fosser (Helsingborg, Sweden) were among the top 40.
The women finished seventh as a team, while the men were 11th.

How it Happened (Men's GS):
- Prouvost posted the top time in the morning run, getting down the hill in 1:05.86 to rank 24th. He moved up two spots after a second run of 1:06.65, finishing 22nd with a total time of 2:12.51.
- Classmate Hjalmar Nyman (Stockholm, Sweden) was 31st with a first run of 1:06.24 but was unable to finish his second run.
- Fosser and Duncan were separated by just 0.10 seconds after their morning runs. Fosser ranked 49th in 1:07.31, while Duncan was 52nd in 1:07.41.
- Duncan edged Fosser in the afternoon, surging up to 36th with a combined 2:15.19, while Fosser placed 38th in 2:15.27.
- Sophomore Alvin Guteland Beiming (Södertälje, Sweden) and freshmen Charlie Howe (Lake Placid, N.Y.) and Ryan Wagner (Ottawa, Ontario) did not finish their first runs.
How it Happened (Women's GS):
- Bouchard was PSU's top finisher in the morning, ranking 14th with a first run of 1:07.82. She posted another top 20 time in the afternoon to finish 18th overall in 2:17.26.
- Andersson and sophomores Megan Heckey (Québec City, Québec) and Marlene Sophie Krohn (Drammen, Norway) were 24th, 31st, and 37th after their opening runs of 1:08.55, 1:08.87, and 1:09.59, respectively.
- Andersson maintained her spot after her second run to finish 24th in 2:19.64, while Heckey and Sophie Krohn did not finish their second runs.
- Freshman Erin Husken (North Vancouver, British Columbia) posted a first run of 1:11.94 to rank 50th but was unable to complete a second run.
- Freshman Märta Hahlin (Arvidsjaur, Sweden) and senior Gill Hamilton (Ottawa, Ontario) were unable to complete their first runs.
