LYME, N.H. – Plymouth State University senior
Max Haussmann (Reutlingen, Germany) faced stiff competition and challenging conditions in the men's giant slalom at the 2025 National Collegiate Skiing Championships at Dartmouth Skiway on Friday.
Starting as the second-to-last skier in the morning run, he skated to the third gate to build speed, but strong winds, with gusts up to 50 mph, hampered his efforts. Despite the tough conditions, Haussmann posted a time of 55.73 seconds, placing him 27th after his first run.
He improved in his second run, clocking a time of 1:01.11 to climb five spots and secure a 22nd-place finish with a combined time of 1:56.84.
Haussmann became just the second PSU men's skier to compete at three-straight NCAA Championships. He previously recorded the program's third-best GS finish at NCAAs with a 16th-place result in 2023.
He concludes his career as one of PSU's top skiers, also holding the program's best slalom finish at the NCAA Championships – a seventh-place result.
