FRANCONIA, N.H. – With one last chance to put himself in contention for a spot at the National Collegiate Skiing Championships, senior
Max Haussmann (Reutlingen, Germany) posted a tenth place finish in the slalom, while three women from the Plymouth State University alpine ski team finished among the top-20, as the Panthers closed out the 2025 carnival season at the UNH Carnival, serving as the EISA Championships and NCAA East Regionals, at Mittersill at Cannon Mountain on Saturday.
Haussmann got out to a strong start, sitting in eighth after the morning run. He slipped two spots in the afternoon to finish tenth, his third top-ten finish in the slalom this season and the 12th of his career. Haussmann is expected to be on the cusp of qualifying for NCAAs, with the official field being released on Tuesday (Feb. 25) via press release on NCAA.com.
The women were paced by freshman
Meg Heckey (Québec City, Québec), who crushed a season-best performance to finish 13th, finishing just ahead of seniors
Tindra Bergstrand (Taby, Sweden) and
Ronja Dahlin (Hudiksvall, Sweden), who were 15th and 17th, respectively. Heckey's second run was a top-ten mark, while her 13th place is a personal best finish.
The event was the final carnival race for Bergstrand, Dahlin,

How it Happened (Men's Slalom):
- Haussmann got out to a hot start with the eight-best opening run of 45.26. He posted another strong run in the afternoon to earn his 12th top-ten slalom finish, ending up tenth in 1:29.42.
- Sophomore Vincent Fosser (Helsingborg, Sweden) closed out the year with his best slalom performance of the season. He sat in 36th after his opening run of 46.67, before jumping up three spots to 33rd with a 1:32.61. He finished more than 20 spots above his bib number of 57.
- Morgan and Hayden were separated by just 0.17 seconds after their first runs. Morgan ranked 42nd in 47.07, with Hayden right behind him 43rd with a 47.24.
- Morgan slid up six spots to 36th following his afternoon run of 45.80 to finish in 1:32.87, while Hayden moved up to 40th with a combined 1:34.32, one spot shy of his season best.
- Wilson ranked 48th after his first run of 47.66. He used a strong second run to jump up six spots and finish the day in 42nd with a total time of 1:34.98.
- Mondschein suffered a disqualification on his first run.
How it Happened (Women's Slalom):
- Bergstrand was PSU's top finisher in the morning after posting a 48.93 to sit in 20th. She used a great second run to slide into 15th with a combined time of 1:38.31, her best slalom finish for the year.
- Heckey was just behind Bergstrand after her first run of 49.12 left her in 22nd, but she crushed her second run to jump up the leaderboard. Her afternoon time of 48.88 was the eight-fastest, leapfrogging her into 13th with a combined 1:38.00, a personal best.
- Dahlin sat in 23rd after a time of 49.18 in the morning run. She turned it on in the afternoon, with a time of 49.27 that ranked just outside the top ten, to jump up to 17th – the second best slalom finish of her career. She finished 18 spots ahead of her bib number 35.
- Hruskova used an opening run of 53.97 to rank 54th, but she jumped up nine spots after skiing a 55.57 in the afternoon. Her 45th-place finish was a career best on the carnival circuit – 20 spots better than her prerace ranking.
- Freshman Olivia Andersson (Vaxholm, Sweden) was unable to finish her first run, while Riise Naas was disqualified.
