MB: Henry named Second Team All-LEC

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Plymouth State University men's basketball senior Kevin Henry (Stratham, N.H.) has been named to the All-Little East Conference (LEC) Second Team following an outstanding season leading the Panthers, the league office announced on Wednesday.

Henry capped off his stellar career by reaching a historic milestone, scoring his 1,000th career point in Plymouth State's final game of the season. He became the 36th player in program history to achieve the feat, solidifying his place among the program's all-time greats.

A dominant force on the court, Henry averaged a team-high 19.7 points and 6.3 rebounds per game while shooting an impressive 47.9% from the field and 90.0% from the free throw line. He led the LEC in free throw percentage, ranked second in steals per game (2.1), finished fourth in scoring average (19.7 PPG), and was seventh in rebounds per game (6.3). Additionally, he was 12th in field goal percentage and 17th in blocks per game (0.6).

Henry recorded numerous standout performances throughout the season, including a season-high 34 points on 16-of-26 shooting in a road victory at Maine Maritime on Feb. 4. He also posted a double-double with 23 points and a season-best 14 rebounds against UMass Dartmouth on Feb. 1.

Henry also posted a 32-point outing at VTSU Castleton on Feb. 12 and a 27-point game against Eastern Connecticut State in the season finale, where he reached the 1,000-point milestone. His consistency was evident as he reached double figures in scoring in all 25 games played, surpassing the 20-point mark 11 times.

In addition to his scoring prowess, Henry led the team in steals (53) and contributed 14 blocks and 49 assists on the season. His play was instrumental in Plymouth State's success throughout the year, including a late season postseason push that saw the team remain in contention into the final week.

Under 14-year head coach Andrew Novick, Plymouth State finished the season with a 12-13 record (5-11 LEC). The Panthers were an impressive 10-5 at Foley Gymnasium and missed out on a playoff spot by just one game.
