LYNDONVILLE, Vt. – Senior
Connor Dobson (South Portland, Maine) reached base three times with a pair of hits, but Vermont State University Lyndon topped Plymouth State University, 11-5, in a non-conference baseball game at Skip Pound Baseball Complex on Monday afternoon.
The Panthers trailed 4-0 heading to the top of the fifth, but Dobson's RBI single got PSU on the board. Plymouth State added two more runs in the inning to cut the deficit to one. The Hornets responded with three runs in the bottom half, but Dobson drove in another run in the sixth, and PSU plated one more in the seventh to make it 7-5. VTSU Lyndon, however, tacked on four insurance runs in the eighth, and Plymouth State was unable to rally.
PSU falls to 6-19, while the Hornets improve to 12-21.
