NEW ORLEANS, La. – Freshman
Ani Flynn (Plymouth, N.H.) has been honored by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) with All-Region recognition, the organization announced Wednesday afternoon.
Flynn earned All-East Region in the high jump, capping a strong rookie campaign for the Panthers.
The top five individuals in each event from each region receive All-Region honors, along with members of the top-three ranked relay teams. Data is compiled based on the Regional TFRI (Track & Field Rating Index), and only USTFCCCA member programs are eligible for awards.
Flynn finished the spring ranked fourth in the East Region in the high jump after clearing 1.62 meters to win the title at last month's Little East Conference (LEC) Championships. The goal-medal performance established a new program record, highlighting Flynn's outstanding individual performance at the event. She also earned a bronze medal in the 400-meter hurdles, just missed a podium spot in the 100-meter hurdles, and ran a leg of PSU's 4x100 meter relay team, which finished fifth. Additionally, she was part of a program-record effort in the 1,600-meter sprint medley relay, which smashed the previous record by nearly 20 seconds in early-April.
