Emma Talon (Southington, Conn.) picked up her second Little East Conference (LEC) weekly honor, as the league announced its cross country award winners on Tuesday.
Talon was recognized as the LEC Women's Cross Country Rookie Runner of the Week for the second time following an outstanding individual performance at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational at Robert Dowd Cross Country Course on Saturday.
She posted a personal-best time of 24:08.07 to place 112th in a crowded field of 275 runners spanning all three NCAA divisions. Her mark was the fourth-fastest among Division III first-year competitors and nearly two minutes faster than her previous best.
As a team, Plymouth State finished 15th out of 36. The Panthers ranked fifth among the 23 Division III schools in attendance and first among LEC programs.
Plymouth State is idle this weekend before returning to action at the Keene State Invitational on Oct. 4.
