MANCHESTER, N.H. – Junior
Rose Karow (South Yarmouth, Mass.) ran the second-fastest 6k of her career to win the Shacklette Invitational by nearly 20 seconds as the Plymouth State University women's cross country team placed second on Saturday.
Karow blew through the course to cross the line in 24:06.80 to top a field of NCAA Division II runners, winning by 17.9 seconds. Freshman
Emma Talon (Southington, Conn.) was the top-finishing first-year runner for the second straight weekend, placing sixth overall in 25:56.10, with classmate
Madison Geddes (Penacook, N.H.) right on her heels in eighth. All five of PSU's point-scorers finished in the top-30, as sophomore
Mia Sweeney (Plymouth, Mass.) and junior
Abby Bergeron (Essex, Vt.) were 14th and 28th, respectively.
Plymouth State finished with 52 points to take second, trailing just the hosts – Saint Anselm College.
