DARTMOUTH, Mass. – Junior
Rose Karow (South Yarmouth, Mass.) flirted with the 23-minute mark to lead the Plymouth State University women's cross country team at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational at Robert Dowd Cross Country Course on Saturday.
Karow set a new personal best by 27.70 seconds, completing the 6k course in 23:01.27 to finish 58th in a field of 275 runners from all three NCAA divisions. Freshman
Emma Talon (Southington, Conn.) continued her impressive start to her career, finishing in 24:08.07, while classmate
Madison Geddes (Penacook, N.H.) and sophomore
Mia Sweeney (Plymouth, Mass.) worked in tandem to cross the line just 0.35 seconds apart. All five of PSU's point-scorers posted PRs.
Plymouth State placed 15th as a team – fifth among D3 schools – outscoring several D2 schools, along with Little East Conference (LEC) foes UMass Dartmouth, UMass Boston, Rhode Island College, and WestConn.
