LYME, N.H. – Sophomore
Olivia Andersson (Vaxholm, Sweden) threw down a big opening run to set the stage for a career-best finish, leading the Plymouth State University alpine ski teams in the giant slalom at the Dartmouth Carnival at Dartmouth Skiway on Friday.
Andersson sat in the top ten after the first run, then used another strong effort in the afternoon to post a personal-best 10th-place finish, outskiing her bib number (36) by a wide margin. Sophomore
Laurence Bouchard (Québec City, Québec) used a big second run to finish 30th.
The men were led by sophomore
Alvin Guteland Beiming (Södertälje, Sweden), who ended up 32nd, while freshman
Charlie Howe (Lake Placid, N.Y.) finished 12 spots ahead of his bib number in 38th.
The women finished sixth as a team, while the men placed 12th.

How it Happened (Women's GS):
- Andersson was dynamic in her opening run for the second straight weekend, cruising to the eighth-fastest morning time (59.63).
- She followed with another solid run in the afternoon, getting down the hill in 1:03.05 for a combined 2:02.68 and her first career top-ten result.
- Bouchard ranked 39th with a first run of 1:00.89, but climbed up to 30th after posting a 1:04.86 in the afternoon for a combined 2:05.75.
- Sophomore Megan Heckey (Québec City, Québec) was just ahead of Bouchard in 36th after her first run of 1:00.82, but was unable to complete her second run.
- Sophomore Marlene Sophie Krohn (Drammen, Norway) and freshman Märta Hahlin (Arvidsjaur, Sweden) were separated by just 0.04 seconds in the morning. Krohn was 45th with a 1:01.21, while Hahlin was 47th in 1:01.25.
- Following the afternoon runs, Krohn bumped up ten spots to 35th (2:06.59), one spot ahead of Hahlin's 2:06.76.
- Freshman Erin Husken (North Vancouver, British Columbia) clocked a 1:03.53 in the morning but did not qualify for a second run, while senior Gill Hamilton (Ottawa, Ontario) was unable to complete her first run.
How it Happened (Men's GS):
- Guteland Beiming owned the team's fastest morning run, sitting in 34th with a time of 58.00 seconds, before sliding into 32nd with a combined 1:59.53.
- Howe, wearing bib 50, was 45th in the morning after getting down the hill in 58.38 seconds. His second run of 1:01.52 moved him up to 38th with a combined time of 1:59.90.
- Junior Angus Somers (Ottawa, Ontario) clocked a 59.23 to rank 65th, while senior Vincent Fosser (Helsingborg, Sweden) was 74th with a 59.47, though neither qualified for a second run.
- Freshmen Javier Lorrain-Beaucage (Montréal, Quebec) and Hjalmar Nyman (Stockholm, Sweden) were neck-and-neck in the morning with times of 59.82 and 59.90 seconds, respectively, though they also did not qualify for a second run.
- Freshman Ethan Rathbone (Newburyport, Mass.) was unable to finish his first run.
