PROVIDENCE, R.I. – A pair of Plymouth State University women's lacrosse student-athletes earned recognition Monday when the Little East Conference (LEC) announced its weekly award winners.
Freshman
Evelyn Goudreau (Topsham, Maine) was a double honoree, earning LEC Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week honors. Classmate
Caitlin Snow (Peabody, Mass.) was named Goalie of the Week following their performances in Wednesday's season opener at Saint Joseph's College of Maine.
Goudreau turned in an impressive collegiate debut, posting four goals, three ground balls, two draw controls and a caused turnover. She went 1-for-1 on free-position attempts and scored twice in the first quarter as PSU built a 4-0 lead. She added two goals in less than a minute in the third quarter to make it 8-4 before the Monks rallied to win in overtime, 10-9.
Snow was equally impressive in her first collegiate game, finishing with 11 saves against Saint Joseph's. She made five stops in the second quarter to help the Panthers build the early lead, and made another three in the fourth quarter to help send the game to overtime.
Plymouth State (0-1) visits Endicott College a week from Wednesday (Mar. 4) at 3 p.m.
