SKI: Heckey anchors Panthers in challenging slalom at Stowe

STOWE, Vt. – Sophomore Megan Heckey (Québec City, Québec) extended her string of strong slalom performances with another solid showing at the UVM Carnival at Stowe Mountain Resort on Friday.

Heckey climbed 13 spots after a strong second run to finish 19th. She was the lone Panther to complete both runs, as challenging course conditions resulted in an astounding 44 DNFs on the women's side.

For the men, freshmen Axel Hafsett (Lausanne, Switzerland) and Charlie Howe (Lake Placid, N.Y.), along with senior Vincent Fosser (Helsingborg, Sweden), all finished within the top 30. Hafsett capped a stellar weekend by significantly outskiing his bib number in both races.
