PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Sophomore
Anthony Cooley (Brunswick, Maine) had two hits and scored a run, but Gordon College used a big fourth inning to topple Plymouth State University, 15-2, in a non-conference clash at Parish Field on Wednesday afternoon.
Cooley singled, doubled and scored a run, while graduate student
Connor Dobson (South Portland, Maine) delivered a two-run double to highlight the Panthers' offense.
Plymouth State falls to 3-21, while Gordon moves to 13-19.

How it Happened:
- Gordon built a 7-0 lead over the first two innings, then added eight runs in the fourth.
- PSU threatened in the bottom of the fourth as junior Brayden Michaelson (Charlton, Mass.) singled and senior Ray Campbell (Torrington, Conn.) walked, but the Fighting Scots escaped the jam.
- Plymouth State broke through in the fifth. Cooley doubled inside the left-field line, and an error put two runners on base. Dobson followed with a two-run double to the gap in left-center.
- Campbell and Cooley both singled in the sixth but were stranded as Gordon closed out the game.
By the Numbers:
- Cooley finished 2-for-3 with a single, double and run scored.
- Dobson drove in both PSU runs with his double.
- Campbell reached base twice with a single and a walk.
- Michaelson added a single in three at-bats.
- Sophomore Jake Adrien (East Hampstead, N.H.), freshman Matthew Hayes (Bellows Falls, Vt.), and junior Sean Dittmeier (Norwood, Mass.) combined for three hitless innings of relief.
