SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Sophomore
Amelia Lefebvre (Greenland, N.H.) scored 2,408 points to sit in third place in the heptathlon while representing Plymouth State University's women's outdoor track & field team on day one of the NCAA Division III New England Regional Championship, hosted by Springfield College at Blake Track on Friday.
Lefebvre ran a personal record in the 100-meter hurdles, clocking 17.07 to place seventh and top her previous best by more than a half-second. She neared her PR in the high jump, placing second after clearing 1.52 meters, and finished fifth in the shot put with a throw of 9.44 meters. Lefebvre closed out the day with another PR in the 200 meters, crossing the line in 27.36 to surpass her previous best by 0.16 seconds.
The meet continues Saturday (May 2), with Lefebvre competing in the long jump, javelin, and 800 meters. She will be joined by other qualifying athletes: freshman
Lisi Palmer (Brunswick, Maine) in the high jump, sophomore
Mia Sweeney (Plymouth, Mass.) in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, and junior
Rose Karow (South Yarmouth, Mass.) in the 800 meters.
