LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Two members of the Plymouth State University softball team were recognized as weekly top performers by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA), the organization announced this week.
Senior
Abbey Nezuch (Marlborough, Mass.) and junior
Avery Couch (Fort Worth, Texas) were both honored for their performances over the past week.
Nezuch posted a .714 batting average with two doubles and six RBIs, while Couch batted .462 with two doubles, five runs scored and two RBIs.
Plymouth State went 3-1 over the last week to finish the regular season 18-17-1 and secure the No. 3 seed for this week's Little East Conference (LEC) Tournament hosted by VTSU Castleton. The Panthers open postseason play against No. 6 UMass Boston on Thursday (May 7) at 1 p.m.
