SALEM, Mass. - The Salem State College baseball team celebrated Senior Day on Thursday by posting an 11-6 come-from-behind victory over Plymouth State University in a non-conference contest at the new Salem State College Baseball Field.

            SSC (24-12) spotted the Panthers a 6-2 lead over the first four innings before roaring back with nine unanswered runs, including a six-run seventh frame. The Vikings collected 14 hits on the day with senior Ken Luongo (Wilmington) going 4-for-5, scoring twice and knocking in a pair. Junior Rob Coppola (Revere) went 3-for-4 with three runs scored, three stolen bases and a pair of RBI for the Vikings.

            PSU (9-21) banged out 13 hits on the afternoon, including a 4-for-5 effort by senior John Pogorzelski (Hillsborough, N.J.).  Senior Brandon Hodge (Bradford, Vt.) had two hits and three runs batted in, including his team-leading sixth home run of the season that put the Panthers up 6-2 in the fifth inning.  Freshman Grant Livingston (Niantic, Conn.) and sophomore Steve Picco (Marshfield, Mass.) also collected two hits apiece for PSU.

            The Panthers return to Little East Conference action Saturday with a 1:30 p.m. doubleheader against UMass Boston.  The games will be played at Yetten Field in Waltham, Mass.
