WENHAM, Mass. – Senior
Terrell Lewis (New Boston, N.H.) and junior
Michael Barrett (Hartford, Conn.) each claimed victories for the Plymouth State University men's outdoor track & field team at the CCC Spring Invitational hosted by Gordon College on Saturday.
Lewis began the campaign with a win in the 110-meter hurdles in a blazing time of 14.57 seconds. The time places him fifth in the nation and atop the region. He also made his mark in the field events with his second win of the day in the high jump, leaving over the bar at 1.85 meters. He beat his competition by 0.05 meters.
Barrett got into the action with a huge victory in the 1500-meter run where he had a destructive kick that brought him to finish in a season-best time of 4:13.69 while topping the field by a full second.
Plymouth State finished third out of eight teams with 131 points.

How it Happened:
- The trio of Barrett and freshmen Jacob Gallaher (Gambrills, Md.) and Connor Wilcox (Colchester, Conn.) joined together with top-seven finishes in the 1500m run. Barrett crossed the line in 4:13.69 to win the event and Gallaher and Wilcox paced each other to fifth and seventh place finishes, respectively, in their own heat.
- Lewis took his first title in his signature event, the 110m hurdles. He crushed his competition with a time of 14.57 seconds and put himself in contention for the national championships, as his time currently ranks fifth in all of NCAA Division III.
- Junior Mike Olson (Sutton, Mass.) had a successful day starting in the 400-meter dash with a second place finish in 50.75 seconds.
- Classmate Ian Griffiths (Bedford, Mass.) took his first second-place finish of the day in the 100-meter dash, crossing the line in 11.45 seconds while finishing just 0.10 seconds behind the leader. He then tacked on another top-two finish in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.28 seconds. He capped off his day with one more runner-up showing in the javelin throw after a toss of 47.33 meters.
- Lewis and sophomore Jyaire Hatcher (Uniondale, N.Y.) also placed in the top eight in the 200-meter dash with times of 23.54 and 23.90 seconds, respectively.
- The group of Olson, Barrett, junior Colin Moar (Annandale, Va.) and sophomore Ryan Moyer (Dover, N.H.) swept second through fifth places in the 800-meter run with Olson leading the charge in 1:59.03.
- The foursome of Moar, Moyer, senior Matt Lyle (Loudon, N.H.) and junior Luke Gomes (Litchfield, N.H.) teamed up to finish third overall in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:39.80.
- Senior Jacob Rigoli (Essex, Vt.) had a big performance in the throws as he placed third in the discus throw with a toss of 39.97 meters and eighth in the shot put, throwing 11.81 meters.
- Sophomore Brandon Vachon (Ayer, Mass.) also placed in the javelin, hurling it 42.94 meters to take fourth.
- Junior Owen Billin (Meredith, N.H.) represented in the triple jump, placing third with a leap of 12.16 meters, while Lewis capped off the day with his second victory of the afternoon in the high jump, reaching a height of 1.85 meters.
