PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Eight members of the Plymouth State University men's outdoor track & field team earned Little East Conference (LEC) postseason honors on Thursday, as the league announced its major awards winners along with the All-Conference and All-Rookie teams.
Freshman
Griffin Massahos (Londonderry, N.H.) led the way as a double honoree, earning All-LEC Second Team recognition in both the 100 and 200 meters. He was joined on the Second Team by senior
Max Goodman (South Salem, N.Y.) in the 5,000 meters, junior
Ben Colby (Manchester, N.H.) in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, and the 4x400-meter relay team of freshmen
Jiasen Smith (Lisbon, N.H.) and
Cam Lee (Northwood, N.H.), sophomore
Isaias Aguasvivas Pena (Marblehead, Mass.) and senior
Zach Hodge (Springfield, N.H.).
Hodge also picked up All-LEC Third Team honors in the 400 meters, while freshman
Enzo Valenti (Montville, Conn.) earned Third Team recognition in the discus.
Massahos was additionally named to the LEC All-Rookie Team as the top-finishing first-year competitor in both the 100 and 200 meters.
Plymouth State totaled 79 points to finish sixth in the team standings.
Qualifying athletes advance to the NCAA Division III New England Regional Championship this weekend.
