SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Seniors
Jacob Rigoli (Essex, Vt.) and
Terrell Lewis (New Boston, N.H.) represented the Plymouth State University men's outdoor track & field team at the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA) Outdoor Championships at Bryant University on Friday.
Lewis and Rigoli both competed on the first day of the championships in their signature events – 110-meter hurdles for Lewis and hammer throw for Rigoli.
Lewis was among the top in the field as he finished second in his heat with a blazing time of 14.57 seconds. His performance in the preliminary heats earned him a spot in the finals on Saturday (May 14).
Rigoli did not register a mark in the hammer throw.
The duo currently ranks among the tops in the nation in their main events and are well-positioned to qualify for the NCAA Division III National Championships. Lewis currently ranks 12th overall, with Rigoli sitting 22nd in their events.
Lewis will back Saturday (May 14) for the 110-meter hurdle finals, while junior
Mike Olson (Sutton, Mass.) will represent in the 800-meter run.
