HOPKINTON, N.H. – Junior
Rose Karow (South Yarmouth, Mass.) shattered the program record to earn All-Region honors while leading the Plymouth State University women's cross country team at the NCAA Division III East Regional Championship, hosted by Suffolk University at Hopkinton Fair Grounds on Saturday.
Karow entered the race already holding the program's fastest 6K time (22:42.40), but she trimmed nearly 16 full seconds off her mark to cross the line in 22:26.60 and finish 25th overall.
Sophomore
Mia Sweeney (Plymouth, Mass.) also posted a new personal best, placing 66th in 23:46.80, while freshman
Madison Geddes (Penacook, N.H.) finished 81st in 24:10.00.
Freshman
Emma Talon (Southington, Conn.) and junior
Abby Bergeron (Essex, Vt.) ran nearly stride for stride to close out the PSU scoring. Talon placed 105th in 24:54.00, with Bergeron three spots back in 24:57.90.
Plymouth State totaled 372 points to finish 10th overall – one place ahead of LEC rival Keene State. The Panthers also edged the Owls at the LEC Championship two weeks ago to secure the conference title.
