Ty Miller (Groton, Conn.) picked up significant academic honors on Friday as the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) announced its 2025 Scholar All-Americans.
To be eligible, a wrestler must either place in the top eight of the regional tournament or wrestle at least 15 matches with a winning percentage greater than 66%. Additionally, they must have an average GPA of 3.20 or better over the last two semesters, or a cumulative GPA of at least 3.20.
Miller went 2-0 at 184 pounds on the first day of the NCAA Division III Northeast Regional Championships to advance to the semifinal round, where he lost a narrow decision to one of the nation's top wrestlers to move into the consolation bracket. He worked his way to the fifth-place match, securing a second-period pin to claim the final victory of his career.
Miller went 35-11 for the year, registering 16 pins for and just five against. He ends his career with an 81-47 record and 36 pins.
