BB: Worthington, Quinn earn LEC postseason honors

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Sophomore Josh Worthington (Pownal, Vt.) and senior Danny Quinn (Holliston, Mass.) were both recognized with Little East Conference (LEC) postseason honors on Wednesday, as the conference announced its major awards winners and All-Conference teams.

Worthington was named to the All-LEC First Team, while Quinn earned All-LEC Third Team honors.

Under head coach Ryan McIntosh, the Panthers finished 6-22 (3-13 LEC) and remained in the hunt for a postseason spot into the final week of the season. PSU swept Western Connecticut State with a pair of strong starts and outhit Keene State, 14-5, in a narrow 4-3 setback to the eventual league champions on Senior Day.

  • He started 27 games, leading Panther regulars with a .340 batting average, .488 on-base percentage, .553 slugging percentage, 1.041 OPS, collecting 32 hits. He tied for the team lead with seven doubles and two triples, and was second with three home runs.

  • He capped that run with a standout game against Colby, going 3-for-4 with a triple, a home run, one stolen base, four runs scored, and an RBI.
  • Worthington led the team with 10 multi-hit games and reached base in each of the Panthers' final 11 games, matching a team high.
  • Defensively, he was steady at the keystone, posting a .952 fielding percentage and helping turn eight double plays.
  • This is his first postseason honor.

Danny Quinn:
  • A 5-10 third baseman, Quinn played Robin to Worthington's Batman. He made 26 starts, ranking second on the team behind Worthington in batting average, hits (30), and on-base percentage, while placing third in OPS and slugging, fourth in runs scored (17), fifth in RBIs (14), and tied for sixth in doubles (3) among qualified hitters. He also shared the team lead with four sacrifice flies.
  • Among his LEC counterparts, Quinn finished tied for 15th with a .337 batting average, and ranked 35th in on-base percentage (.400), slugging percentage (.438), and OPS (.838). He also landed among the top 50 in most other offensive categories.
  • Quinn's final stat line was .337/.400/.438 with an .838 OPS, 30 hits, three doubles, two home runs, 14 RBIs, and 17 runs scored.
