ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Senior
Max Goodman (South Salem, N.Y.) finished tenth overall and fourth among NCAA Division III runners to pace the Plymouth State University men's cross country team as the Panthers finished sixth at the Suffolk Short Course Classic at Mark Coogan XC Course at Highland Park on Saturday.
Goodman posted a time of 15:57.18 in the 5k race, trailing six competitors from NCAA Division I institutions and three D-III runners. Sophomore
Noah Francis (Bethlehem, N.H.) and senior
Luke Cloutier (Lyman, Maine) posted top-50 finishes, while juniors
Ben Colby (Manchester, N.H.) and
Cooper O'Neil (Millbury, Mass.) rounded out the Panthers' scoring five.
The field featured 163 runners, including two D-I programs. Plymouth State finished sixth as a team, just one spot behind Little East Conference rival UMass Dartmouth and comfortably ahead of Springfield College.
