ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Sophomore
Rose Karow (South Yarmouth, Mass.) posted a top-20 finish to lead the Plymouth State University women's cross country team to an eighth-place team result at the Suffolk Short Course Classic at Mark Coogan XC Course at Highland Park on Saturday.
Karow crossed the line in 11:31.34, a mark that was the fourth-fastest among NCAA Division III runners. Freshmen
Emma Talon (Southington, Conn.) and
Madison Geddes (Penacook, N.H.) impressed in their collegiate debuts, while sophomore
Mia Sweeney (Plymouth, Mass.) and junior
Abby Bergeron (Essex, Vt.) rounded out the scorers. Talon posted the fastest time among first-year, Divison III competitors.
The race featured nearly 200 runners, including three NCAA Division I programs. Plymouth State finished eighth as a team, one spot of Little East Conference rival UMass Dartmouth and just behind Springfield College.
