BOSTON, Mass. – Senior
Cass Hanson (Stetson, Maine) and junior
Abby Bergeron (Essex, Vt.) both posted personal-best times, and the Plymouth State University women's indoor track & field team narrowly missed setting two program records at the River Hawk Invitational, hosted by the University of Massachusetts Lowell at the TRACK at new balance on Friday.
Hanson's personal-best performance came in the 200 meters, where her time of 27.17 seconds was 0.21 seconds faster than her previous best indoor mark. Bergeron posted a time of 19:47.63 in the 5,000 meters improving her prior best by more than four seconds.
Freshman
Emma Talon (Southington, Conn.) came within 0.16 seconds of the program record in the mile run, while PSU's 4x400-meter relay squad also approached the school mark, missing the time by just 0.25 seconds.
The non-scoring meet featured several NCAA Division I and II programs.

- Hanson clocked a personal record 27.17 in the 200 meters to place 37th. Freshman Sophie West (Rochester, N.H.) finished 45th in 27.75.
- Freshman Clare Tuohy (Sunapee, N.H.) posted a time of 59.38 in the 400 meters to place 17th.
- In the 800 meters, junior Rose Karow (South Yarmouth, Mass.) ran a season-best 2:22.13 to finish 22nd. She was the top Division III finisher by more than four seconds. Freshman Madison Geddes (Penacook, N.H) was 40th in 2:28.61.
- Talon flirted with the program record in the mile run, crossing the line in 5:27.69 – just 0.16 seconds off the mark.
- Sophomore Mia Sweeney (Plymouth, Mass.) finished 43rd in the 3,000 meters with a time of 11:20.37.
- Bergeron placed 21st in the 5,000 meters with a personal-best time of 19:47.63.
- Sophomore Ani Flynn (Plymouth, N.H.) ran a 9.67 in the preliminaries of the 60-meter hurdles, her second fastest mark of the season.
- Flynn also competed in the high jump, clearing 1.55 meters to place 14th.
- Flynn, Hanson, Karow, and Tuohy were within striking distance of the school record in the 4x400-meter relay. The foursome combined for a 4:14.92 to finish 17th – just 0.25 seconds from history.
