PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Freshman
Owen Webber (Bow, N.H.) drilled a two-run homer in the opener, but the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth swept Plymouth State University in a Little East Conference (LEC) doubleheader at Panther Field on Saturday.
PSU trailed 3-0 in the second inning of game one, but a UMass Dartmouth error and Webber's blast tied the game. The Corsairs erupted for nine runs in the seventh to take the opener, 16-5, in seven innings, before completing the sweep with an 11-4 victory in game two.
Plymouth State falls to 3-19 (2-8 LEC), while UMass Dartmouth improves to 16-17 (8-2 LEC).

How it Happened (Game One):
- The Corsairs took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first and added a run in the second for a 3-0 advantage.
- Junior Brayden Michaelson (Charlton, Mass.) stole third and scored on a throwing error in the bottom of the second. Junior Ryan Morgado (Brentwood, N.H.) walked, and Webber followed with a two-run homer to tie the game at 3-3.
- UMass Dartmouth answered with three runs in the third and one in the fourth to build a 7-3 lead.
- The Corsairs broke the game open with nine runs in the seventh.
- Webber doubled home a run in the bottom half, and freshman Joey Dronzank (Hebron, Conn.) scored on a groundout to account for the final margin.
By the Numbers (Game One):
- Webber went 2-for-3, including his first career home run, and finished with three RBIs and a run scored.
- Senior Andrew Faherty (Phoenix, Ariz.) added a hit.
- Michaelson and Morgado combined for four walks and three runs scored.
- Sophomore Jake Adrien (East Hampstead, N.H.) struck out five and allowed just two earned runs in three innings of relief.
How it Happened (Game Two):
- UMass Dartmouth scored single runs in the first and second, then added five in the third to take a 7-0 lead.
- Sophomore Login Desrochers (Raymond, Maine) led off the third with a single but was erased on a double play, and the Corsairs tacked on another run in the fourth.
- Faherty doubled in the bottom of the inning to extend his hitting streak to 16 games.
- Sophomore Anthony Cooley (Brunswick, Maine) singled home Webber in the fifth, but UMass Dartmouth answered with two runs in the sixth to make it 10-1.
- Cooley lined a two-run double inside the third-base line to pull PSU within 11-3 in the seventh.
- Webber scored on a wild pitch in the ninth to account for the final run.
By the Numbers (Game Two):
- Cooley went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs.
- Desrochers finished 2-for-4 with a run scored.
- Faherty's double extended his streak of at least one hit in every start this season.
- Webber scored two runs.
- Juniors Dillon Below (Derry, N.H.) and Boden Smith (Bedford, N.H.) combined for four strikeouts and allowed just one hit over three innings.
