PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Junior
Sam Salvi (Southborough, Mass.) reached base four times and drove in three runs, but Little East Conference (LEC)-leading University of Southern Maine powered past Plymouth State University, 23-5, in a league matchup at Parish Field on Tuesday afternoon.

Brayden Michaelson (Charlton, Mass.) added a pair of RBI singles to lead the Panthers, but Southern Maine – boasting the top offense in the conference – pulled away with a big fourth inning. The Huskies are No. 28 in this week's ABCA poll and are receiving votes in the latest D3baseball.com poll.
Plymouth State falls to 3-20 (2-9 LEC), while Southern Maine improves to 22-6 (10-1 LEC).

How it Happened:
- The Huskies scored a first-inning run to take a quick 1-0 lead, but Michaelson delivered an RBI single in the bottom half to tie the game.
- Southern Maine went back in front with two runs in the second, but Salvi's two-out triple cut the deficit to 3-2.
- USM added two runs in the third, then erupted for nine in the fourth to pull away.
- Salvi smoked a two-out, two-run double to the left-center gap, and Michaelson followed with an RBI single as Plymouth State plated three runs in the bottom half.
- USM continued to tack on runs to secure the win.
