1966 PSC BASEBALL TEAM: One of the best team’s in Plymouth State College’s athletics history is the 1966 baseball team, which is celebrating the 30th anniversary of its championship season. Under legendary Panther coach Joe Clark, the Panthers won their first 11 ball games (doubleheaders were rare in those days), and finished with a 12-1 overall record. PSC finished 11-1 in the New England State College Athletic Conference, capturing the championship among the 17-team league, a sizable number compared to today’s standards.

Leading players for the team included pitcher Bobby Peacock, who was 5-0 with three shutouts and a 0.59 ERA, fourth in the country, and senior captain Dave Anderson, who was 11th in the Country with a .453 batting average and team highs in doubles (6), runs (22), RBI (17), and stolen bases (11). Anderson is now in his 11th year as a PSC assistant baseball coach.
