CHARLES CURRIER: A longtime Plymouth area resident, Charles Currier was a prime mover behind the establishment of the Plymouth State varsity football program in 1970. He served in several different assistant coaching positions, and was head coach for two seasons. Currier has been credited with recruiting many of Plymouth’s fine student/athletes.

Always active in promoting college and community sports, Currier helped found the Plymouth State Athletic Booster Club and also coached several sports at Plymouth High School.

Just before his death in 1982 at age 54, Currier witnessed and was a part of the first undefeated football team in Plymouth State history, a Panther team that went 10-0 and was awarded the 1982 Lambert Trophy. In 1983, the PSC football field was named Currier Field in his honor.
