JOE AMOROSINO ('62): A former standout athlete at Sharon High School (Mass.) and Plymouth Teachers College, Amorosino has enjoyed a 40-year career as a high school and college coach, professional basketball scout, and basketball camp director. He has been a scout the past nine years for the New Orleans Hornets of the National Basketball Association, and has spent more than 30 years in a key role in the management and operations of the Dave Cowens Basketball School.

Amorosino earned varsity letters at PTC in soccer, basketball and baseball, but it was his role as manager and student assistant coach of the basketball team under Coach John Foley that sparked his successful career. It was this experience that helped Amorosino become head basketball coach at Hopkinton High School (Mass.) at age 22, the youngest head coach in the state. He went on to a distinguished basketball coaching career at Quincy High School (Mass.), leading his teams to seven state tournaments and one Suburban League Championship. He also coached three undefeated soccer teams at Quincy as well as coaching the track and cross country teams.

Amorosino coached basketball at the college level at Boston University, Suffolk University and Wentworth Institute of Technology. He has previously been inducted into the Halls of Fame at Sharon High School, Quincy High School, and the Massachusetts Basketball Coaches Association.
