WILBUR HIXON ('53): A 1953 graduate of Plymouth Teachers College, Wilbur Hixon was a standout second baseman for coach John C. Foley’s PTC baseball teams of the early 1950’s, including the 1950 squad which won a New England championship. Hixon also played one year on the Panther basketball team, also for Coach Foley.

After graduating from Plymouth Teachers college, Hixon began a long and distinguished career as a coach and educator. He taught at several New Hampshire high schools, including Plymouth High School, before accepting a position at Andover High School in Massachusetts, where his basketball coaching record (462-159 overall) earned him a place in the Massachusetts Coaches Hall of fame.
