RUSS MASSAHOS ('02): A former four-year starting running back for Plymouth State, Massahos recorded three 800-yard rushing seasons and ran for over 1,000 yards in 1999, one of only 10 one-thousand-yard rushing seasons in school history.  He was a three-time Freedom Football Conference All-Star, earning First Team honors in 1999 and 2001, and was an East Region All-Star in ’99.

A native of Derry, N.H./Pinkerton Academy, Massahos finished his career second on Plymouth State’s career rushing list, and still ranks third with 3,276 yards and 36 touchdowns.  He set a New England Division III record with six touchdowns in a game in a win over Coast Guard, earning a Boston Globe Gold Helmet Award.  Massahos was also a strong receiving threat out of the backfield, finishing his career with 63 catches for 480 yards and three touchdowns.

Massahos helped the Panthers to a four-year record of 27-15, with ECAC post-season appearances in 1998 and 1999 and an ECAC championship in ’99.  He also led the team to the Freedom Conference Co-Championship as a senior in 2001.
